Apple TV released the trailer for “Mayday” on Tuesday, and it took no time at all for it to start making waves online.
It’s not hard to understand why. A Cold War action-comedy with Ryan Reynolds and Kenneth Branagh is absolutely going to draw serious interest.
Judging from the trailer, fans are in for a very fun time with “Mayday.”

A Cold War action-comedy with Ryan Reynolds playing a shot down American pilot evading capture in the Soviet Union?
Say no more. I’m absolutely sold, and I love the fact the Soviet guy who finds him loves the USA. Realistic? Not at all, but it is a fun concept.
It’s also a further sign that there’s been a serious vibe shift in entertainment away from slop and towards stuff that is actually entertaining.
