Both the Browns and Titans have been bottom-dwellers of the NFL for years. However, there is reason for optimism for both teams this season, even if the Titans’ record doesn’t indicate it. The two teams battle each other this afternoon, with both looking to start a winning streak.
The Cleveland Browns are at the top of their division, which is not a sentence written very often. The Browns come into the game with a 4-2 record for the season and a solid mix of conservative offense and stingy defense. They aren’t turning the ball over, which has been their key to success. The defense has shown remarkable progress despite losing the best defensive player in football via trade. Hope hasn’t been this high in years.
The Titans are just 1-5 for the season, getting their first win of the year last week. It was a good comeback win for them. They were down 13-0 to the Colts at halftime, but they scored a ton in the second half, both with Special Teams and their offense. Cam Ward looked composed in the pocket and delivered when it mattered most. Tennessee may not be great, but they have been competitive in most games this season.
This should be a good battle between two young and hungry teams, both searching for success. The Browns want to keep their lead in the division. The Titans are looking for more progress in a year that will likely end outside the postseason.
