The Carolina Hurricanes raised their second Stanley Cup banner on opening night, and Tuesday they visit Nashville in the lone 8:00 p.m. ET game. Every team gets up for the defending champions, and the Predators get the Canes in their own building. Pyotr Kochetkov is slated to get the start between the pipes for the ‘Canes, and he is off to a record-setting pace. With Kochetkov in the crease, the Hurricanes have one ten straight as he has recorded a blistering 1.50 GAA to go along with two shutouts.
Tampa Bay hosts Detroit at 7:00 p.m. ET with Nikita Kucherov, who won his second Hart Trophy last season, leading the way. He’s still one of the most productive players in the sport, and the Lightning at home are always a tough out. There have been rumblings that Kucherov may want out of Tampa, which would be massive news in the NHL world. Ironically, Detroit is one of the list of teams that have reportedly already inquired about the Hart Trophy winner.
