Welcome to Australia and its great outdoors, where a fishing trip sometimes means an encounter with a crocodile. Thankfully, this one didn’t go sideways.
The victory went to the “determined fisherwoman” who luckily wasn’t ever in danger of losing a limb or being snatched off the shoreline by the croc, but did almost have her fish stolen.
Some less determined than Tyla Cloughessy, who is a physiotherapist when she’s not doing outdoor influencer activities, would have dropped the fishing pole and let the large reptile have the fish.

She didn’t do that. She instead reeled in her catch as fast as she could while backpedaling away from the croc in her crocs. The close call ended in her favor. The croc retreated back into the water, and she got to keep her fish.
That’s the unscripted magic of being out in nature. Props to whoever was working the camera for staying calm and focusing on capturing the moment. You’d hate to have shaky camera work on a moment like that one.
The croc will have to go back and review what took place and make adjustments. Tyla won that round and was able to capture the victory pose with her catch, which is what it’s all about.

But she better believe there’s always a chance for another croc encounter. She can’t lower her guard out there and become complacent.
Expecting that she’ll always come away with her fish is exactly how she’ll end up losing one. I’d suggest some more reps, backpedaling in crocs and time spent working on speed reeling.
That will keep her one step ahead. She doesn’t need any advice from me though. She knows what she’s doing when it comes to the outdoors.
