The Underdog Nobody’s Talking About: Kentucky
Most of the attention today will go to Miami-Notre Dame and the Holy War, which makes Kentucky the most interesting spot on the board. The Wildcats are 7-1, 5-1 in the SEC and alone in first place in the conference. They’ve won five straight, including one-point wins over LSU and South Carolina and a 21-13 win at Oklahoma. They also had a bye week to prepare.
Tennessee is 6-2 but coming off a deflating 27-24 loss at South Carolina, and the Vols have struggled to finish against good teams. They did beat Alabama 26-10 and crushed Kentucky 56-34 last season, which is a big reason the market still sees Tennessee as the clear favorite at home.
Kentucky has done nothing but close games this season, and a 6.5-point spread gives the Wildcats room to lose and still cash. The first-place team in the SEC getting nearly a touchdown is a number worth backing, especially with Kentucky’s kicker, Adam Zouagui, reliable in tight finishes. Use your first $5 on the Wildcats.
Today is Day 1. Here’s how to finish the four-day run:
