The Breeders’ Cup is at Keeneland this weekend, with the $7 million Classic closing out Saturday’s card. If you’re trying to bet it with FanDuel or BetMGM, the short answer is yes, but not through the sportsbook apps. Both companies run separate racing platforms, and availability depends on where you live.
Horse racing is pari-mutuel wagering, and it’s regulated separately from sports betting. That’s why you won’t find the Breeders’ Cup on the FanDuel Sportsbook or BetMGM Sportsbook board in most states. Instead, each company offers a dedicated racing app.
FanDuel Racing is the bigger of the two and is available in more than 20 states. If you already have a FanDuel Sportsbook account, you can use the same shared wallet to bet on FanDuel Racing, so there’s no need to fund a second account.
BetMGM Racebook is a standalone app that’s currently live in just three states: Florida, Louisiana and Ohio.
This is the fourth time Keeneland has hosted the Breeders’ Cup, after 2015, 2020 and 2022. Friday’s card is built around the 2-year-olds, while Saturday features nine more races leading up to the Classic.
The FanDuel and BetMGM sportsbook welcome offers can’t be used on horse racing, but there’s no shortage of places to use them this weekend. Canelo Alvarez fights Christian Mbilli for the WBC super middleweight title Saturday, Florida and Georgia meet in Atlanta, the NBA has a full Saturday night and the NFL is back Sunday.
The Breeders’ Cup belongs to the racing apps, but the rest of the weekend is wide open. New users can get up to $150 in bonus bets from FanDuel starting with $5, or cover their first bet up to $1,500 with BetMGM bonus code FOXNEWS.
