The NBA is off for Election Day, which leaves Tuesday night to the NHL. Eleven games are on the board, from an eight-game 7:00 p.m. ET window to a late finish in Vancouver. Hard Rock Bet is offering new users the chance to bet $5 and get $500 in No Sweat Bets, with a token waiting for you every day for 10 days.
Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl against Connor Hellebuyck is the best matchup of the night. Hellebuyck is 2-0-0 with a 1.50 goals-against average and a .923 save percentage since joining New Jersey, which is why the Devils are home favorites. Edmonton counters with Tristan Jarry, who has two shutouts but a .901 save percentage.
The Devils won the last meeting 2-1 in January, and the books are expecting another tight game with the under juiced at -125. That’s exactly the kind of game where the puck line matters.
The Pick: Oilers +1.5 (-180). If this is a one-goal game either way, Edmonton covers. Even against an elite goalie, McDavid and Draisaitl rarely let a game get out of hand, and the Oilers only need to lose by one or win outright. It’s the safest way to back the best offensive duo in hockey on the road.
Odds are subject to change
Hurricanes at Predators, 8:00 p.m. ET. Carolina raised its second Stanley Cup banner on opening night, and the champs get Nashville’s best effort every time they come to town. Road games against hungry home teams are where defending champions get tested in November.
Red Wings at Lightning, 7:00 p.m. ET. Nikita Kucherov won his second Hart Trophy last season and still drives everything Tampa Bay does. When the Lightning are at home, Kucherov’s line is usually the first place to look.
